Military customers have deployed CACI International’s counter-small unmanned aerial system technologies for missions within and outside the continental U.S., Army Times reported Monday.
Carl Boggs, SkyTracker program director at CACI, told attendees at an Association of the U.S. Army event in Washington, D.C. that the company is under contract with the Department of Defense, intelligence community and other law enforcement authorities to provide its SkyTracker suite of c-sUAS platforms.
The SkyTracker suite includes fixed-site, small form factor and on-the-move platforms fitted with radio frequency detection and mitigation features that work to hinder communication between sUAS units and their operators.
SkyTracker systems can also identify UAS types and direct enemy drones to conduct a “safe landing†to defeat them.
“One thing that we do, which I do think is a discriminator from other types of systems, is we can find the actual ground control system or the radio operator,†Boggs said.
The man-packable SkyTracker attack system weighs three pounds and has a range of up to 1.86 miles, while the fixed-site system can reach more than 6.21 miles. The SkyTracker AWAIR on-the-move system has a range of up to 3.1 miles and can operate onboard low-visibility vehicles and trucks.
