Air Force to Conduct Interactive Gaming Challenge for Warfighter Tech

The Air Force Warfighting Integration Capability intends to hold an interactive challenge in order to encourage various companies to build approaches that will test concepts on warfighter capacities, Nextgov reported Tuesday.

AFWIC intends for the participants to build an online game environment that will gauge players’ moves, integrate data from different databases and enable rapid development and deployment of multiplayer games.

The planned environment will test munitions, sensing technologies and air systems from the Department of Defense as well as industry and academic partners. In addition, AFWIC seeks to distribute gaming scenarios based on the evaluated concepts via an online wargaming system.

According to a Fedbizopps notice, the U.S. Air Force is slated to conduct an industry event from Oct. 16 to 17 to discuss the details of the project. The service branch will also release a solicitation on Oct. 18 and hold a demonstration of proposals on Nov. 14.
