Vannevar Labs plans to introduce technology platforms that leverage artificial intelligence, natural language processing and machine learning to help defense and intelligence agencies address national security issues, TechCrunch reported Wednesday.
The Palo Alto, Calif.-based tech company raised $4.5M in seed funding from Costanoa Ventures and General Catalyst and now plans to unveil a platform that seeks to support agencies’ counterterrorism missions using NLP technologies.
Brett Granberg, who previously worked at the U.S. intelligence community’s venture capital arm In-Q-Tel, and Nini Moorhead, former intelligence officer, founded Vannevar Labs.
“We think that the people that defend our country should have access to the best tools and technologies to do their job. We know these people, we used to work with them, and we want to help them,†said Granberg, who serves as CEO of Vannevar Labs.
