United Technologies Corp. will support volunteer projects under an expanded partnership with nonprofit Engineers Without Borders USA.

The company said Friday it will provide educational, financial and expansion support for EWB-USA’s domestic and international infrastructure efforts.

EWB-USA pursues a variety of disaster relief and community improvement programs across 44 countries. UTC will help the nonprofit build an engineering coalition to support disaster preparedness and response efforts such as those in Puerto Rico.

In addition, the company will financially help EWB-USA expand in certain locations and provide engineering outreach at underserved communities within the U.S.

The partnership originally began in 2010 and has since supported multiple projects across the globe.
