Symantec has earned a FirstNet Listed designation for cybersecurity tool designed to help public safety professionals secure mobile devices from network threats, malware and vulnerability exploits.

The Symantec Endpoint Protection Mobile technology uses a layered predictive approach along with a threat intelligence network to predict and detect an existing or a zero-day threat, the company said Wednesday.

SEP Mobile was to the FirstNet App Catalog after completing security, data privacy and relevancy tests.

The catalog features a range of mobile-based tools for access by first responders who have subscribed to the national public safety communications network.

AT&T helped build the FirstNet platform through a public-private partnership.
