Spire Global has launched its first weather forecast service designed to help customers learn future atmospheric and oceanographic changes.

The company said Wednesday its Spire Forecast product informs maritime industry clients on sea surface temperature, ocean currents, air temperature and other related attributes.

Shipping companies, maritime vessels and harbors may use the forecast service to identify risks and augment workflows to address weather-related challenges.

Spire Forecast is also a precursor to the firm’s future weather services across other industries and markets.
