Sen. Mazie Hirono, D-Hawaii, took a tour at Huntington Ingalls Industries’ Newport News Shipbuilding division to view work on nuclear-powered vessels.
Hirono, a member of the Senate Armed Services Subcommittee on Seapower, took a look at HII’s efforts to construct, overhaul and maintain nuclear-powered submarines and aircraft carriers, the company said Friday.
