Raytheon has landed a $52.8M contract modification from the U.S. Navy to provide design agent and engineering services for a sensor network with fire-control capacity.
Scope of work will include the performance of integration efforts, software sustainment and advanced studies in line with the Cooperative Engagement Capability initiative, the Department of Defense said Monday.
The modification represents an exercised option from a previously awarded $279.3M contract for the design of the sensor netting platform.
For the contract, the service branch will obligate $7.1M from fiscal year 2019 and foreign military sales funds, with $989.9K slated to expire at the end of the current fiscal year. Performance of work is set to conclude by September 2020 and will take place in Largo, Fla.
CEC is established to help the Navy augment battle force capacities through the optimization of situational awareness functions and usage of layered engagement methods.
