A cross-sector team that includes Mitre was named among the three grand-prize winners of a competition that sought proposals to address management challenges in the federal government.
Mitre said Tuesday it received a $300K award from the General Services Administration and the Office of Management and Budget through the GEAR Center Challenge for a proposed workforce program meant to help a federal agency recruit and train neurodiverse adults for cyber positions.
The nonprofit company's advisory collaborators are DXC Technology, Drexel University, Mercyhurst University, SAP, Rochester Institute of Technology and University of Maryland at College Park.
According to GSA, the group aims to pilot a Federal Neurodiversity Cyber Workforce program to prepare an agency in the identification, hiring, onboarding and retention of the underutilized population.
