Mikros Systems has concluded the integration of a condition-based maintenance tool into a littoral combat ship used by the U.S. Navy.
The AN/SYM-3 platform is designed to enable secure networking, data analytics and remote status monitoring for a ship's combat system components, the company said Wednesday.
In addition, the tool can transmit real-time system performance data and provide potential trends and gaps for the vessel.
Mikros performed the installation as part of an indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quality contract under the ADEPT Distance Support Sensor Suite vehicle.
“There are many other Navy systems and ships where Condition-Based Maintenance capabilities are planned, and we are working diligently to apply the SYM-3 system to these and other applications across the Navy,†said Lori Ogles, program manager at Mikros.
