Lockheed Martin has further developed and prepared its new electro-optical targeting technology for integration into F-35 aircraft.

The company said Tuesday its Advanced Electro-Optical Targeting System has a plug-and-play feature to allow for simplified installation onto F-35 Lightning II units, and is designed to help F-35 pilots address adversaries across multiple spectrums.

Advanced EOTS offers a larger aperture and multiple infrared options to address sensing needs in different kinds of spectrums, such as short-wave and mid-wave.

Lockheed used internal funds to finance the Advanced EOTS’ developmental efforts.
