The Pentagon’s Defense Innovation Unit has assessed an autonomous system from D-Fend Solutions at an interagency test event that showcased 16 counter-unmanned aircraft systems.

D-Fend Solutions said Tuesday that its EnForceAir platform took part in Black Dart 2019, where DIU helped the Department of Defense evaluate c-UAS technology from governmental and commercial products.

EnforceAir is built to automatically recognize rogue drones and mitigate potential risk by taking control of the vehicle to ensure it lands on a pre-defined safe zone.

Zohar Halachmi, chairman and CEO of D-Fend Solutions, said the agency down-selected the company’s technology during the demonstration event.

The department aimed to validate air and missile defense concepts and platforms that could support the C-UAS mission set via Black Dart in response to the growing use of commercial drones and emergence of threats posed by secuh aircraft to military assets.
