The Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency has issued a presolicitation notice to seek proposals in line with the fourth sprint of the OFFensive Swarm-Enabled Tactics program.
DARPA said Friday it envisions technologies and operational swarm tactics that will work to integrate into physical testbeds and support urban missions.
Scope of technologies may include swarm fielding systems, sensors and mechanisms for swarm manipulation.Â
Sprinters will incorporate their technologies into swarm system frameworks and are required to develop approaches that can accommodate 250 ground and air-based robots.
DARPA has also given contracts to various organizations, including Siemens, Charles River Analytics and Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory, to carry out work for OFFSET’s fourth sprint.Â
Carnegie Mellon University and Soar Technology, which were previously chosen for the third sprint, were also selected by DARPA.
