Arlington, Va.-based cybersecurity firm Shift5 has raised $2.5M in a new round of venture funding led by Squadra Ventures and backed by Emerging Ventures, Lamphere Capital, Nue Capital and Outland.
Shift5 said Thursday it will use the funds to continue to build up its team and gain new clients.
“While a cybersecurity ecosystem has bloomed around IP-based computer networks, Operational Technology cybersecurity has seen relatively little innovation,†said Josh Lospinoso, co-founder and chief research officer of Shift5. We’re stepping in to fill that gap, defend the nation’s critical infrastructure, and make the technology we rely on everyday safer and more resilient.â€
Shift5 develops software and hardware products that work to defend and protect aircraft, commercial transportation and weapons systems from cyber attacks. The company helps military and industry clients gather and analyze data on internal communication networks using cybersecurity tools such as Shift5 Gauge Cluster, Shift5 Engine and Shift5 Intake.
