BAE Systems has received a one-year, $50.4M contract modification from the U.S. Navy for services in support of the Trident II D5 missile and other weapon systems.
According to a Department of Defense posted Wednesday, the company will also support weapon systems for guided missile submarines. The modification applies to a potential $368.7M contract that BAE Systems received in 2016.
Work will take place in various continental U.S. locations as well as the U.K. through Sept. 30, 2020, and the Navy will immediately obligate the entire amount that combines funds allotted for U.K. efforts and Navy fiscal 2020 operation and maintenance.
The Department of the Navy’s Strategic Systems Programs issued the sole-source contract.
Lockheed Martin manufactured the Trident II missile, which is equipped on Ohio-class and Vanguard-class submarines.
