American Systems Named to 2020 Military Friendly Employers List; Peter Smith Quoted

American Systems has been added to the list of military friendly employers for 2020 in recognition of the Chantilly, Va.-based information technology services contractor’s efforts to hire and support retired service personnel.

Peter Smith, president and CEO of American Systems and a three-time Wash100 award recipient, said in a statement published Wednesday the company is proud to support the country’s military through its work in national security initiatives.

“We are equally proud of the many men and women who have served our country and have chosen to ‘continue the mission’ at American Systems,” Smith added.

The company received high marks for its commitment and culture in support of the veteran community. It offers the Servicemember Outreach And Referral program, which serves as a platform for veteran employees to support recruitment and onboarding efforts and build up camaraderie and morale of fellow retirees through engagement initiatives.
