Herrick Technology Laboratories, a manufacturer of software-defined radio technologies, has won a three-year, $40.7M contract to develop and demonstrate prototype SDR transceiver components for the U.S. Air Force.
HTL will produce, demonstrate and test hardware and software for the Spectrum-Agile, Location Aware, Enhanced Electromagnetic Kit intended to support reprogrammable SDR functionalities for a range of military missions, the Department of Defense said Monday.
The Air Force Research Laboratory received two offers for the cost-plus-fixed-fee completion contract and will obligate fiscal 2019 research, development, test and evaluation funds at the time of award.
Contract work is slated to take place in Maryland, New Hampshire and New York through October 2022.
Germantown, Md.-based HTL offers SDR hardware and software with multi-channel radio frequency and microwave transceiver features to support the signals intelligence, electronic warfare and communication-related operations of DoD clients.
