The U.S. Cyber Command has created a Joint Cyber Warfighting Architecture strategy aimed at establishing common firing systems, joint situational awareness platforms, a sensor network and a persistent cyber training environment, Fifth Domain reported Sunday.

As part of the JCWA effort, the command also seeks to establish a Unified Platform, which is aimed at integrating the command’s disparate systems, and a Joint Cyber Command and Control platform intended for consolidating C2 operations for joint, coalition and interagency groups.

George Franz, cybersecurity lead for the national security business within Accenture’s federal arm, said Unified Platform will standardize Cybercom and the Defense Information Systems Agency’s big data operations while allowing forces to promote interoperability by simplifying information sharing and create common tools. The U.S. Air Force plans to allocate research and development funds worth $11.6M for the JCC2 project in fiscal 2020.

“Unified Platform is really that big data infrastructure in the center piece for everything they do,” Franz said.
