Vector Launch has secured a $3.4M contract to help the U.S. Air Force send experimental satellites to orbit, Space News reported Wednesday.
The space vehicle launch, which will take place in NASA’s Virginia-based Wallops Flight Facility, will support the Department of Defense’s Space Test Program and the Small Rocket Program-Orbital effort of USAF’s Space and Missile Systems Center.
Vector’s Agile Small Launch Operational Normalizer or ASLON-45 vehicle will carry multiple cubesats to low Earth orbit. The mission, scheduled to achieve initial launch capability in 2021, is the Arizona-based contractor’s first mission with the Air Force.
