The U.S. Air Force has issued funds to help Charles River Analytics develop a tool that analyzes the cybersecurity of systems via a game-theoretic approach.

Its Game-Theoretic Reasoning and Analysis of Vulnerability or GRAVITY tool will use behavioral models to provide reasoning on systems’ cybersecurity, Charles River Analytics said Tuesday. The company is exploring ways to detect vulnerabilities and measure corresponding effects to help analysts visualize weaknesses and develop strategies.

“With GRAVITY, we are developing tools to analyze and respond to threats that exist in the gray area between peace and conflict,” said Sevan Ficici, senior scientist at Charles River Analytics and principal investigator for GRAVITY.
