Splunk has collaborated with Clemson University to help the latter reinforce online learning and security functions through the use of data analytics. The university has implemented the Canvas analytics tool to study, track, analyze and respond to over two terabytes of data daily, the company said Wednesday.
Clemson also utilized Splunk’s information technology helpdesk platform, which manages 20K walk-in requests and 40K calls annually, to forecast and prepare for potential downtime issues. In addition, the system lowered report errors and optimized response functions for support tickets.
Frank Dimina, vice president of Splunk’s public sector business, said Clemson’s usage of data analytics enabled “positive change†on-campus and affected the institution’s student body, security and IT capabilities.
