SpaceX plans to expand its facilities in Florida to accommodate the company’s Starship rocket, Reuters reported Saturday. According to SpaceX’s draft environmental assessment, the company’s super heavy-lift launch vehicle is expected to lift off up to 24 times annually from its launch pad 39A at Kennedy Space Center in Florida.
The company plans to establish another landing site at the 39A launch pad and intends to use the Air Force landing pad used for Falcon 9 rocket boosters to accommodate Starship’s return landings.
The draft also noted that the first booster stage of the rocket will land on an unmanned SpaceX barge off the coast of Florida.
