Raytheon’s missile systems business has landed a two-year, $47.9M contract to produce 469 laser-guided precision-attack missiles for the U.S. Air Force. The service branch will initially obligate $43.8M for the Maverick missile production and delivery contract, the Department of Defense said Friday.
Contract work will take place in Tucson, Ariz., through Sept. 30, 2021. The Air Force Life Cycle Management Center is the contracting activity for the sole-source procurement.
The Maverick missile, which employs risk reduction software and a digital laser seeker technology, is designed to counter sea- and ground-based moving targets.
