Raytheon has collaborated with Rheinmetall Defense and Pratt & Miller’s defense business in the development of a crewed military platform that will support the U.S. Army’s Optionally Manned Fighting Vehicle program.

According to a Raytheon press release published Monday, Pratt & Miller will carry out engineering analysis efforts to help the Lynx Infantry Fighting Vehicle achieve OMFV survivability standards.

“Pratt & Miller is proud to join the Lynx team and support the survivability analysis, ensuring the best technologies for unparalleled protection for our warfighters,” said Celyn Evans, defense director at Pratt & Miller.

Offered by Raytheon and Rheinmetall to the Army in 2018, Lynx utilizes various weapons, sensor and system integration capabilities to protect warfighters and equip them with situational awareness functions. The service branch launched the OMFV program to deploy a manned combat vehicle to replace the Bradley Fighting Vehicle in 2026.
