Teledyne Instruments, a Teledyne Technologies subsidiary, has received a potential 22.2M contract to provide the Naval Undersea Warfare Center with autonomous underwater vehicles. It will also provide complementary monitoring and communications acoustic systems for the vehicles, Teledyne Technologies said Monday.
The indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity contract holds a $5.4M base value that will cover 2019 work, and options to access the award’s maximum amount. If all options are exercised, the project will run through December 2024.
AUVs work to support underwater survey missions. Teledyne incorporates a modular architecture to simplify integration of sensors and energy packs. The company also offers other autonomous marine vessels such as profiling floats and unmanned surface vehicles.
