Lockheed Martin‘s Sikorsky subsidiary has received a five-year, $48.3M order to obtain spare parts needed to maintain or repair CH-53K lot 3 configuration helicopters. Work will take place at various locations within the continental U.S. through August 2024, the Department of Defense said Tuesday.

Naval Air Systems Command placed the order under a basic ordering agreement and is obligating the full cost of the procurement. Sikorsky secured a $1.13B contract in May to manufacture lots 2 and 3 CH-53Ks and received a separate $107.3M contract earlier this month to acquire long lead items required to produce lot 4 heavy lifters.

The helicopter is designed to help U.S. and international military customers transport equipment and personnel from vessels to shore and to high-altitude terrains.
