Mercury Systems Passes NIST, DFARS Security Audit

Mercury Systems has achieved 100 percent compliance on Department of Defense and the National Institute of Standard and Technology’s cybersecurity standards after a five-week assessment from third-party auditing firm Cytellix.

The audit validated that Mercury Systems met 110 information security requirements in line with NIST Special Publication 800-171A and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement 252.204-7012, the company said Monday.

Jeff Eason, chief information officer at Mercury, said the firm has started to develop cybersecurity approaches in a move to support defense security efforts including the National Industrial Security Program.

“Receiving this independent third-party validation of our cybersecurity controls program is a major milestone in our comprehensive defense industrial security plan,” added Eason. DoD has launched a compliance initiative that seeks to push organizations in augmenting cybersecurity practices by meeting NIST and DFARS requirements.
