Kymeta has secured a contract of undisclosed value through the Special Operations Forces Deployable Node Lite vehicle to deliver portable satellite communication terminals to the U.S. Special Operations Command, Satnews reported Sunday.
SOCOM will use the terminals to manage non-secure and secure voice, video and data communications at different classification levels.
The company’s Kaelo high-throughput access service and its flat-panel satellite antennas are developed to enable mobile connectivity via satellite-cellular hybrid networks for customers worldwide.
Paul Mattear, vice president of business development and sales at Kymeta, called the contract a “tremendous accomplishment†for the company.
The SDN Lite contract seeks to equip special operations forces with tactical communications and hardware systems.
