Kurt Small, formerly president of government markets at Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Minnesota, has been appointed to lead healthcare firm Anthem’s federal government solutions business, FedHealthIT reported Friday. Small will help support various government contracts and manage the company’s federal business group under his new capacity.
Prior to his previous role, Small served as chief operating officer at Virginia Premier Health Plan and assumed the position of senior vice president for health plan operations at Highmark. He also spent 16 years at Aetna as vice president of service operations.
Small obtained his bachelor’s degree at William & Mary and completed his postgraduate studies at Yale School of Management.
