KBR has established a new ‘cyber range’ in North Charleston, S.C. designed to simulate real-world information technology systems, networks, applications and tools to support organizations’ testing and training activities. The company said Thursday that the cyber range serves as a virtual IT and operational technology environment that mimics digital infrastructure for various activities, such as cybersecurity training and system performance assessments.
KBR noted that customers can remotely access the cyber range and use it to strengthen their IT assets while evaluating the efficiency of applications in a live environment. Derrick Nixon, vice president of security solutions at KBR’s U.S. government arm, said the company intends to continuously update the cyber range to include new features such as artificial intelligence technology.
According to the company, customers can also use the cyber range to transmit information to their own networks through SecDevOps, ensure compliance with National Institute of Standards and Technology guidelines and cut time alloted for vulnerability assessments during the design phase of new technologies.
