John Benac, former mechanical systems design and analysis engineer at Boeing, has joined NanoRacks to serve as director of engineering. He will lead a 20-man team to produce, test and deliver space flight hardware in his new position, operating from Houston, NanoRacks said Tuesday.
Benac’s new responsibilities include leadership of company design reviews, process implementation and oversight of engineering activities such as the firm’s Space Outpost and Bishop Airlock programs.
His more than a decade of engineering experience covers work with a variety of technology companies such as Stratolaunch and Bradford Space. The experienced engineer worked on programs related to the Space Launch System and other NASA efforts during his time with Boeing.
