Nonprofit charity organization Disabled American Veterans has selected Huntington Ingalls Industries as large employer of the year in recognition of the company’s veteran hiring initiatives.
HII’s award comes as part of the 98th DAV and Auxiliary National Convention, which took place last week in Orlando, Fla., the company said Thursday.
Bill Ermatinger, executive vice president and chief human resource officer for HII, said the firm is “steadily focused†on its efforts to recruit, train and retrain veterans across the HII enterprise.
“We are honored to be recognized by DAV for our efforts to serve those who have served us,†he added.
