The General Services Administration’s Office of Government-wide Policy has released recommendations regarding a framework designed to help agencies manage information technology expenses.
OGP partnered with the Office of Management and Budget to gather industry input on how to boost IT spending transparency and better implement the Technology Business Management framework, GSA said Monday in a FedBizOpps notice.
The effort identified a variety of tools that may work to support IT management transparency. These tools include data science technologies such as robotic process automation, artificial intelligence and natural language processing, in addition to financial management approaches.
In addition, the agencies discovered the significance of scalability to address changes over time and recommend the use of the IT Schedule 70 vehicle. OMB and GSA will also establish a dedicated task order review board to streamline IT procurement and guide agencies in TBM implementation.
