General Dynamics subsidiary GPS Source has opened a new engineering and manufacturing facility in Colorado Springs, Colo. The 18,500-square-foot facility will also house research and development, shipping, program management, finance, sales, marketing and administration activities, General Dynamics Mission Systems said Wednesday.

It was built to address GPS Source’s ongoing workforce growth and accommodates 85 employees. The facility’s ribbon cutting ceremony featured multiple Colorado Springs officials such as Rep. Doug Lamborn, R-Colo.

GPS Source provides a variety of positioning, navigation and timing technologies to support needs in multiple application areas such as defense, public safety, telecommunications, automotive and aerospace.
