Falkonry has received a contract of undisclosed value from the U.S. Air Force through the Small Business Innovation Research vehicle to deliver a network security tool. The company said Wednesday that the “Air Gap” iteration of its long-range surveillance offering works to physically isolate secure networks from unsecured systems.

“For defense and intelligence applications, predictive operations technology must be easily deployable, scalable, highly secure and handle the massive amounts of operational data generated,” said Laura Stuart, research and development project manager at U.S. Strategic Command’s Joint Warfare Analysis Center.

“By uniquely meeting these requirements, Falkonry LRS allows us to leverage powerful [artificial intelligence]-enabled technology without having to hire data scientists,” she added.

In addition, the tool allows secure deployment to unclassified and classified environments and is built for integration into Department of Defense analysis systems. Falkonry is a California-based information technology firm that provides machine learning and predictive operations tools for commercial and government clients.
