The Federal Aviation Administration seeks to administer an aeronautical knowledge test for users of recreational drones and requests stakeholders to submit information needed for the effort. FAA said Thursday it will use the test to assess a recreational drone operator’s knowledge in aeronautical regulations for unmanned aerial systems.

The test will also support the FAA Reauthorization Act of 2018, which states the new requirements for recreational drone use. FAA also seeks third parties willing to conduct tests and training, and build an electronic record for test takers. The agency will accept responses through Sept. 12, 2019.
