The Washington Headquarters Services is looking for a contractor that can perform cyber penetration testing to support the Defense Innovation Unit’s efforts to fortify Department of Defense systems and train personnel in cybersecurity.

WHS intends to award a one-year, firm-fixed-price contract to a small business which will perform non-personnel services for the initiative’s penetration testing, red teaming and training phases, according to a FedBizOpps notice posted Monday.

The agency noted in a performance work statement that phase one will involve initial assessments of cyber vulnerabilities, while phase two will have teams perform simulated attacks, intelligence gathering and threat modelling.

Afterwards, phase three will require the contractor to utilize the collated results, conduct staff training and develop cybersecurity procedures for potential use in DoD systems including cloud environments. Interested parties may submit responses to the request for quote through Sept. 16.
