CoreSite Realty has received attestation from an independent third-party assessment organization for data center controls that are relevant to a set of National Institute of Standards and Technology guidelines. Schellman & Company conducted the NIST 800-53 assessment on the real estate investment trust’s portfolio of 19 multi-tenant data centers, CoreSite said Wednesday.

NIST developed the special publication containing recommendations to secure federal information systems. The Denver-based CoreSite seeks to help customers manage data through its facilities and comply with requirements under the Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program as well as the Federal Information Security Management Act.

The data center REIT company also uses cloud connectivity services from Amazon Web Services, IBM and Oracle.
