Clearwater Compliance, Ferris State University, the University of Texas at Austin and Kennesaw State University have partnered to develop programs to help students secure skills in information infrastructure security. The company said Thursday that the universities have integrated the former’s IRM|Pro Enterprise Cyber Risk Management Software application to their certificate, graduate and postgraduate programs as part of the partnership.

IRM|Pro works to present risk analysis scenarios and assists students with their case studies through the implementation of risk management strategies from the National Institute of Standards and Technology. In addition, Clearwater executive chairman Bob Chaput and chief risk officer Jon Moore will serve as instructors at the University of Texas for the Leadership in Healthcare Privacy and Security Risk Management certificate program.

“The UT curriculum is focused on risk-based cybersecurity strategy development and offers a significant opportunity to train individuals for many critical, non-technical Cyber Risk Management roles needed in healthcare,” said Chaput. “Clearwater is proud to help these institutions address industry demands, provide guidance and supplement classroom instruction with valuable experience using its software.”

The Department of Homeland Security and the National Security Agency have designated the Ferris State University and Kennesaw State University as national centers for academic excellence in cyber defense education.
