Checkmarx to Augment Software Security Under Navy Contract

Checkmarx has secured a contract of undisclosed value to speed up the creation and delivery of secure software applications for the U.S. Navy.

The company said Monday that it will use its static application security testing, or CxSAST, and software composition analysis, or CxOSA, tools to optimize software security capacities in support of continuous delivery and integration efforts within the Naval Research and Development Establishment and Naval Information Warfare Center Pacific’s ecosystems.

Checkmarx noted it will help over 5K Navy contractors and developers validate, classify and correct security gaps during the software development lifecycle.

“The stark reality is that it takes an adversary less than 24 hours to weaponize an exploit that targets a newly discovered vulnerability in a deployed application,” said Rich Wajsgras, vice president at Checkmarx’ U.S. federal business.

“In order to properly combat against these evolving threats, speed, along with accuracy and security, is critical when developing government software applications,” added Wajsgras.
