Boeing has opened a new facility in Philadelphia that will house V-22 Osprey tiltrotor aircraft modernization and fuselage manufacturing activities to support the U.S. Air Force, Marine Corps and Navy.
The 350K-square foot complex will be used for V-22 fuselage production for U.S. military and international customers as well as Block C modification work for the Marine Corps’ Common Configuration – Readiness and Modernization program, Boeing said Thursday.
David Koopersmith, vice president and general manager at Boeing’s vertical lift division, said the company has invested $115M for the project, which aims to address V-22 demand in the U.S. and overseas.
