Ario Technologies, an augmented reality technology company based in Norfolk, Va., has raised $2M in an NRV-led venture round in support of the former’s efforts to expand its AR portfolio to domestic and international markets.
The investment will help Ario drive sales for its AR-based software-as-a-service offering and address the needs of companies seeking to improve performance, implement remote assistance and cut time allocated for training, the company said Monday.
“Our team is focused on reducing the skills gap across the workforce and we are excited to deliver our augmented reality platform to eager hands,†said Joe Weaver, CEO and co-founder of Ario.
The U.S. Air Force also invested $1.5M in Small Business Innovation Research grant funding to Ario, bringing the company’s total funding to $3.5M. Ario’s SaaS platform is designed for enterprise-level operations management and can be accessed through web and mobile platforms. NRV is a venture capital firm based in Richmond, Va.
