AFWERX, a U.S. Air Force innovation program, has selected Viasat to exhibit a multi-network satellite communications concept at a technology event in Las Vegas.
According to a company press release published Monday, Viasat will showcase its own concept of a hybrid adaptive network during the AFWERX event that takes place July 23 to 24 in Las Vegas. The event highlights technologies that work to address USAF’s real-world challenges.
Viasat’s network concept is designed to provide communications services for multi-domain missions. The future network aims to grant access across commercial and government satcom networks to facilitate end-to-end communications.
The concept will serve as Viasat’s entry to the AFWERX Multi-Domain Operations Challenge, a competition for products that support operational efficiency across land, maritime, air, space and cyber domains as well as the electromagnetic spectrum. Viasat possesses a multi-orbit terminal and other products developed to support the hybrid adaptive network.
