Truepic has won first place with its platform designed to address digital forgery of deepfakes at the Identity and Truth Tech discovery event, which helps startups pitch products to intelligence and defense investors.
In-Q-Tel said Monday it joined M12, Microsoft and Silicon Valley Bank to announce Truepic’s win at the event, where Truepic showcased a platform designed to verify data integrity of images and videos via the company’s Controlled Capture camera technology.
Deepfakes refer to falsified or altered media that cyber actors use as false evidence.
“In the future, we will need companies and technologies like those presenting at this event to help us all determine what content is original and what has been altered, emphasizing the importance of Truth Tech as an emerging category of startup activity,†said George Hoyem, managing director at IQT.
Truepic joined other small companies in the event including Deeptrace, Fiddler Labs and Graphika.
At the event, the companies presented their ideas to a panel of industry experts and government representatives, including LinkedIn, Microsoft and NVIDIA.
