TransLumen Technologies has delivered a set of training-tailored mobile game apps with Science Applications International Corp under an effort supporting the Federal Aviation Administration.

It delivered the ATCGO casual-style serious-games for an FAA-led program that aims to train air traffic controllers, TransLumen said Tuesday. The company developed these game apps with experts from SAIC and FAA.

ATCGO allows individuals to train in high-fidelity virtual environments that simulate air traffic control scenarios.

Douglas Siefken, CEO and chief technical officer at TransLumen, said the app is designed to engage users’ cognitive processes and help them retain learned skills.

ATCGO employs a casual-style gaming approach that uses repetition to help a trainee recall lessons.
