Slalom held a two-day hackathon to help the residents of San Diego develop technical approaches that will potentially address law enforcement gaps through the use of Amazon Web Services offerings.

Participants from San Diego universities and law enforcement agencies were allowed access to reference architectures to develop processes that may protect and manage law enforcement data, AWS said Friday.

The attendees discussed various methods on distributing real-time data and updating current processes through the use of technology. Additionally, they developed a framework that will validate and gauge key data points to allow transparency in information.

“Having the opportunity to be immersed with experts with deep understanding of cloud technology opened our eyes to how we can improve the accessibility and performance of our systems, keep our officers informed, and provide better services to our communities,” said Yosh Kakkad, chief information officer at San Diego Sheriff's Department.

Slalom is an AWS premier consulting partner company that offers knowledge in user research, information technology, customer validation, business strategies, branding, mergers and acquisitions.
