Schuyler Line Navigation has secured a potential four-year and eleven-month, $51.4M firm-fixed-price contract from the U.S. Navy to transport and preposition cargo from a shallow draft tanker vessel.
Contract work has a base period of 12 months and may extend through Oct. 29, 2024 if all options are exercised, the Department of Defense said Friday.
Military Sealift Command received three offers from 50 solicited small businesses and obligated $1.7M from fiscal year 2019 funds for the contract. The MT SLNC Pax is a 621-foot tanker ship designed to deliver petroleum fuel to DoD distribution and storage facilities across the globe.
