Paragon Space Development has received a contract of an undisclosed value from NASA through the Small Business Innovation Research Phase II vehicle to mature a phase separation platform that works to move liquid condensate from the air for eventual water purification purposes.
The Condensate Separator for Microgravity Conditions technology is designed to yield separation rates over 95 percent and produce inlet water and air volume ratios over 99:1, Paragon said Wednesday.
COSMIC functions to supply the separated condensate to the International Space Station’s water processing assembly and the system allows for smooth integration into lunar vehicles and the International Space Station.
“We are pleased to provide NASA and the space launch community with this unique and innovative technology that will make exploration of deep space safer and more reliable,†said Grant Anderson, president and CEO at Paragon.
