The American Association of People with Disabilities and Disability:IN have named Northrop Grumman and Mitre among the top workplaces for disability inclusion practices.

Northrop said Wednesday it has reached a rating of 100 percent in the Disability Equality Index for the fifth consecutive year and has conducted policies and programs for disabled personnel to receive the recognition.

“We strive to advance these best practices and create a work environment that values diversity and inclusion across the enterprise,” said Sandra Evers-Manly, vice president of global corporate responsibility at Northrop and president of the Northrop Grumman foundation.

Mitre scored 90 percent on the DEI and has developed programs that work to support inclusivity and long-term growth for its employees. Kathleen Federico, senior VP and chief human resources and strategic communications officer at Mitre, said in a separate announcement the firm has taken steps to grow its diverse workforce to push the development of new offerings.

The DEI gauges nominees’ disability inclusion efforts in a range of areas including community engagement, leadership, organizational culture and support services.
