NIWC Atlantic’s Fred Bisel Named AWS Educate Cloud Ambassador

Amazon Web Services has recognized Fred Bisel, the founder and lead of the Naval Information Warfare Systems Center Atlantic’s Cyber Education and Certification Readiness Facility, as a member of its inaugural AWS Educate Cloud Ambassador Program.

The U.S. Navy said Monday the program acknowledges educators and technical experts for their efforts to accelerate cloud-related learning in their classrooms.

NIWC Atlantic offers cloud training to active duty members and civilian personnel at the Department of Defense through the AWS Academy program, which provides a ready-to-tech cloud curriculum that includes lectures and hands-on lab projects. 

“AWS courses provide NIWC Atlantic employees and other civilian and military members the knowledge required to obtain crucial certifications to ensure a highly-skilled workforce,” Bisel said. 

He is the only AWS Educate cloud ambassador that works for the Pentagon.
